THE ZOLDO RING

 

A six laps itinerary in the Zoldo valley, which can be covered in a day and most part of which is developed in heights constantly below 2000 metres. The itinerary may start at any lap and end at any lap of the track : from Passo Duran (Duran Pass) in the area of Agordo, from Passo Staulanza (Staulanza Pass) in the Fiorentina Valley, and from Passo Cibiana (Cibiana Pass) in the Cadore area.


The first lap (from Le Bocole-Forno di Zoldo to Rigugio Angelini (Angelini Retreat)-Sora 'I Sass) leads to the heart of the Mezzodě group of mountains and can be covered in 4:30/5:00 hrs.
 

The second lap (from Angelini Retreat to Duran Pass-San Sebastiano Retreat) brings into Belluno Dolomites National Park crossing Val di Pramper and can be covered in 5:30/6:00 hrs. The third lap (from Duran Pass to Sonnino Retreat at the Coldai) goes through the Moiazza and Civetta massifs and can be covered in about 6/6:30 hrs. The fourth lap goes from Sonnino Retreat/Coldai passing by De Luca/Venezia Retreat to Mountain Pelmo through the south side and can be covered in about 4/5:00 hrs. 


The fifth lap goes from Venezia Retreat to Cibiana Pass/Remauro Pass, through the military route towards Zoppé di Cadore and the Ritte Mountain where the famous fort is. 
This lap can be traversed in about 5 hours. This sixth and last lap goes from Cibiana Pass to Boccole-Forno di Zoldo passing through the Sfornoi-Bosconero group of mountains. Time of mileage : 5/5:30 hours.
